Let’s start with the fact that I am very anti-fascist and therefore support the idea of Antifa. Now where I see problems. First off hiding your face for something you’re supposedly proud to be. Now many in the movement so this because they have riots over someone having a speaking engagement. Now Anne Coulter, Richard Spencer and Milo Y are horrible people to be sure. But silencing speech is itself fascist. So Antifa is being hypocritical. Side note, I’m still cool with spencer being punched. I worry that the movement has been co-opted by outside influences that are actually quite fascist and a wonderful idea is being sold down the river. “Words hurt” isn’t a reason to engage in these sort of acts. That’s not fighting the power, it’s blindly following. Marches and protests yes. Acts of violence should only be defensive.
